Marjoram is a bushy perennial herb. The oil is extracted through steam distillation of the dried leaves and flowering tops.

ESSENCE: Peaceful, calm and numbing. Marjoram is middle note and is considered to be a balancing oil.

EFFECTS: Marjoram is warming, grounding and stabilizing. It is helpful for addictions, trauma, anxiety and vertigo.

THERAPY: Marjoram is a powerful oil and has the ability to strengthen and relax the nerves. It is often used as an inhalation or chest rub for colds and flu, and its anti-spasmodic effect makes it an excellent aid in reducing Snoring. It is also a very good decongestant and will help relieve sinus pressure or blockage. Its warming effect helps disperse bruises, and it is also recommended for alleviating high blood pressure. The analgesic properties of Marjoram make it a good choice for relieving muscular spasm, arthritis and rheumatism pains, sprains and strains.

PRECAUTIONS: Overuse may have a deadening effect on the emotions. Marjoram is anaphrodisiac and an emmenagogue. DO NOT USE DURING PREGNANCY.
