Peppermint is a perennial herb. The oil is extracted through steam distillation of the partially dried herb.

THERAPY: Primarily used in ointments and balms for its analgesic property to relieve muscle pain, lumbago, bruises and contusions, joint pain and insect bites. It is effective on the digestive system, aiding with dyspepsia, nausea, diarrhea and flatulence. Peppermint is also very beneficial for colds, influenza fever, headaches and migraines. Flies and ants do not like the scent, making it a good natural insect repellent.

PRECAUTIONS: may irritate sensitive skin.  Avoid during pregnancy
