Our Certified Organic Macadamia Oil is unrefined (virgin) and is cold expressed from the macadamia nut. As well as being a natural sunfilter, its delightfully light scent and texture make it an excellent cooking or salad oil. PROPERTIES: Macadamia oil contains approximately 22% Omega 7 (palmitoleic fatty acid) and has the highest amount of beneficial monounsaturated fats of any known nut. The oil is popular in Australian cuisine due to its high heat capacity. CONTAINS: Oleic, Palmitoleic, Palmitic, Archidic, steric and Eicosenoic fatty acids TEXTURE: Medium SHELF LIFE: 12 - 18 months APPLICATIONS: Palmitoleic acid is also found in our sebum and is vital to delaying skin and cell ageing, thus macadamia oil is recommended for mature skin which starts to dry as the sebum production diminishes. The oil is highly nourishing and emollient. AS A NATURAL SUNSCREEN: Macadamia is a rich source of vitamin E and has natural UV absorption properties. Apply the oil liberally and allow to absorb for 10 - 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply the oil every 30 minutes when in full sun.
