Awaken My Senses Free Essential Oil Recipes

  1. Ingredients:
    120 ml lavender floral water (or distilled water)
    20 drops peppermint essential oil
    15 drops lemongrass essential oil
    15 drops cedarwood essential oil
     
    Blend the essential oils together and add to the floral or distilled water (the oils will blend better if  you use floral water). Pour into a plastic spray bottle.
    You will need to shake the bottle before applying. Apply as often as needed.
  2. Ingredients:
    1 tablespoon clay
    1 teaspoon organic floral water
    3 drops essential oil

    Add the water portion to the clay and blend to a fine paste.  Add in the essential oil(s).  Spread evenly over the entire face, avoiding the eye and mouth area.  Leave the mask on for 15 – 20 minutes.  Use either an old face cloth or a soft paper towel to remove the mask.  Rinse and tone the face and follow up with a nice oil massage. 
  3. Ingredients:
    2 tablespoons Kaolin (French White) Clay
    1 teaspoon finely ground Chamomile flowers
    2 tablespoons distilled water
    1 tablespoon Calendula oil
    10 drops Neroli essential oil

    Blend the clay and ground chamomile together.  Add the distilled water and mix well, then add the Calendula oil and Neroli essential oil.  Apply to your arms, legs, and abdomen and chest area.  Leave on for 25 – 30 minutes, and then shower. 
  4. Ingredients:
    2 tablespoons Seaweed powder
    3 tablespoons Pumpkin Oil
    1 tablespoon distilled water
    10 drops Sandalwood essential oil

    Measure out the seaweed, then add the pumpkin oil 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing well after each tablespoon. Next, add the distilled water and Sandalwood essential oil.  Apply to your arms, legs, abdomen, and chest area.
    Leave on for at least 30 minutes before showering off. 
    Note:  for a back treatment you will need a friend to apply the mask.
     
  5. Ingredients:
    1 tablespoon finely ground organic oatmeal
    3 inch chunk of organic cucumber
    2 tablespoons plain organic yogurt
    1 teaspoon organic honey
    2 drops Neroli essential oil

    Peel and puree the cucumber and blend into the yogurt. Add in the honey and oatmeal.  Stir well, then add the Neroli essential oil.  Apply to a cleansed face and leave on for 20 – 30 minutes.  Remove with a warm wet washcloth.
     
  6. Ingredients:
    1 ripe organic banana
    1 tablespoon powdered milk
    1 tablespoon organic oatmeal
    2 teaspoons organic honey
    3 drops Roman Chamomile essential oil

    Mash the banana, then mix together with the powdered milk and oatmeal. Add in the honey and Roman Chamomile essential oil. Use the entire amount right away.
     
  7. Ingredients:
    ¼ cup organic rice flour
    ¾ cup organic strawberries, raspberries, blueberries
    2 tablespoons Neroli Calming Mist or Sandalwood Sensous Mist (both are floral waters)

    Mash the berries and combine with the floral water.  Add just enough water to make a soft paste.  Spread the mixture over the entire face, avoiding the eye area.  Relax for 10 minutes.  Then wet your fingers and massage in.  Rinse and pat dry. 
  8. Ingredients:
    1 tablespoon finely ground organic oatmeal
    1 tablespoon Awaken My Senses cleansing cream

    Using the cleanser, just add 1 tablespoon of ground oatmeal and massage into the skin. 
    This is gentle enough to use on sensitive skin.  
  9. Ingredients:
    2 tablespoons grated organic apple
    2 tablespoons apricot kernel oil

    Mix ingredients together and gently massage into the skin. This is a gentle facial scrub and is good for all skin types.

  10. This recipe was requested by Jennifer Keeves Wright. It is a favorite of mine. I use it to wash and condition my fine hair.

    Ingredients:
    500 ml  Castile soap
    10 ml Argan oil
    20 drops Sandalwood essential oil
    20 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
    40 drops Rosemary essential oil
    20 drops Geranium essential oil

    Pour the Castile soap into a large measuring cup. Gently stir in the Argan oil. Blend all the essential oils together and add them to the mixture a few drops at a time, stirring constantly. Let the mixture set for 24 hours before using. 
  11. Ingredients:
    15 grams emulsifying wax
    50 grams mango butter
    40 ml vegetable oil
    150 ml distilled or floral water
     
    Using a double boiler, melt the emulsifying wax and butter. Pour in the vegetable oil and mix well. Remove from heat. Use an electric hand mixer and begin to blend. Add in the water portion gradually. Beat until you get a thick creamy consistency.
    Spoon into jars. Makes approximately 240 ml. 
  12. Ingredients:
    15 gm emulsifying wax
    50 gm Shea butter
    30 ml Arnica Oil
    10 ml Borage Oil
    75 ml Sandalwood floral water         
    75 ml distilled water
     
    See Base formula for method. Makes approximately 240 mls
  13. Ingredients:
    15 gm emulsifying wax
    50 gm Cocoa butter
    30 ml Almond Oil
    10 ml  Sesame Oil
    150 ml distilled water
     
    See Base formula for method. Makes approximately 240 mls
  14. Ingredients:
    15 gm emulsifying wax
    50 gm Shea butter
    20 ml Avocado Oil
    20 ml Jojoba Oil
    50 ml Rose floral Water
    100 ml distilled water

    See Base formula for method. Makes approximately 240 mls
  15. Ingredients:
    20 drops lavender essential oil
    15 drops marjoram essential oil
    10 drops ginger essential oil
    ¼ cup sea salt
    1 cup epsom salt
     
    Blend the essential oils together and set aside. Mix the 2 salts together. Add the essential oil blend 1 – 2 drops at a time. Use a fork to mash out any lumps. Store in a glass jar.

    To use, add 3 tablespoons to a warm bath and soak for 20 – 30 minutes. 
  16. Ingredients:
    3 tablespoons rolled oats
    1 tablespoon dried chamomile flowers
    1 tablespoon dried calendula flowers
    1 tablespoon dried lavender buds
     
    Mix together and tie up in a cheesecloth or organza bag. Drop in the bath water. 
  17. Ingredients:
    125 grams epsom salt
    75 grams fine sea salt
    1.5 tablespoons ground lavender buds
     
    Method: Mix all ingredients together and store in a jar. This is enough for 2 – 3 baths.
  18. Ingredients:
    2.5 grams beeswax
    5 grams butter (shea or cocoa)
    5 grams coconut oil
    5 ml vegetable oil
     
    Using a double boiler, melt the beeswax and butter. Next add in the coconut oil to melt. Stir in the vegetable oil and remove from heat. Pour into small jars and allow to cool.
    (makes 2  ¼ oz jars)
  19. Ingredients:
    ¼ cup cane sugar
    ½ cup mashed avocado
    2 tablespoons pumpkin seed oil
     
    Mix all ingredients together and use immediately. 
  20. Ingredients:
    1 cup sea salt
    ¼ cup almond oil
    1 cup dried lavender buds
    6 drops lavender essential oil
     
    Mix the salt and dried lavender buds together, then add the almond oil and lavender essential oil. Mix well and spoon into a jar.
  21. Ingredients:
    15 drops sweet orange essential oil
    ¼ cup brown sugar
    ¼ cup cane sugar
    ¼ cup white sugar
    5 tablespoons avocado oil
     
    Blend all sugars together, then add the avocado oil one tablespoon at a time, mixing thoroughly after each tablespoon. Add the sweet orange essential oil to the mixture, stir well and spoon into a jar. 
  22. Ingredients:
    2.5 grams beeswax
    2 grams mango butter
    5 grams coconut oil
    5 ml calendula oil
    3 drops myrrh essential oil
    7 drops lavender essential oil

    Using a double boiler, melt the beeswax and mango butter. Next add in the coconut oil to melt. Stir in the calendula oil and remove from heat. Add the myrrh and lavender essential oils and stir well. Pour into small jars and allow to cool.
    (makes 2  ¼ oz jars)

  23. Ingredients:
    10 grams beeswax
    5 grams butter (shea or cocoa)
    30 ml vegetable oil
     
    Using a double boiler, melt the beeswax and butter. Stir in the vegetable oil and remove from heat. Pour into lip balm tubes and allow to cool.
    (makes 8 tubes)
  24. 10 grams beeswax
    5 grams cocoa butter
    20 ml almond oil
    10 ml rosehip oil
    20 drops spearmint essential oil

    Using a double boiler, melt the beeswax and cocoa butter. Blend the almond and rosehip oils together and stir into the beewax mixture. Remove from heat and add the spearmint essential oil. Pour into lip balm tubes and allow to cool.
    (makes 8 tubes)
