Cold sores (also known as fever blisters) are a symptom of a common viral infection - herpes simplex. They are spread from person to person by close contact, such as kissing. Unfortunately, as many of us know, once you have contracted herpes simplex, you have it for life. The virus lies dormant in ganglia located near the medulla oblongata at the base of the skull. The appearance of cold sores is the first sign of a compromised immune system, typically aggravated by stress (the virus travels down the facial nerves to the mouth area).
If used at the first hint of a cold sore, our blend will usually stop the sore in its tracks. Even if you miss the first signs, it will soothe the cold sore and accelerate healing while keeping the sore soft and preventing  it from becoming an angry red, hard, painful scab.
St. John’s Wort contains hypericin, a potent antiviral agent.
Bergamot is antiseptic and antiviral. It has a tonic effect on the nervous system, helping to alleviate stress related immune depletion.
Eucalyptus radiata is antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and decongestant. It helps sooth inflamed skin and decongests the blister.
Tea Tree has a broad spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacteria, viruses and fungi.
Application: using a cotton ball, apply 1 – 2 drops directly onto the sore. Do not reapply using the same piece of cotton. Throw it out immediately to avoid spreading the virus. You should apply the oil 3 – 4 times a day for 3 days. If it has not started healing, repeat for another 3 days. Then apply once a day for 5 days.
Precautions: St. John’s Wort and Bergamot can cause photosensitivity, so sun exposure is not recommend when applying this blend.  Avoid contact with the eyes. Keep away from small children. Do not ingest.

100% pure ingredients: organic St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum) plus organic essential oils of  Bergamot (Citrus aurantium bergamia), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus radiata) and Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia).
