Clary Sage is a biennial or perennial herb. The oil is extracted by steam distillation of the flowering tops.

ESSENCE: Opens the door to the unknown, unusual, creative and intuitive. Strengthens the Qi. Clary sage is a middle to base note and is considered to be a relaxing oil.

EFFECTS: Lifts the spirit without disconnecting from reality. It is a strengthening yet relaxing oil that has an ability to keep us in balance. Helps to relieve anxiety states involving fear, paranoia and delusions.

THERAPY: An excellent muscle relaxant for those who hold tension and stress in the muscles. Good for hair care, as it helps to reduce excessive amounts of sebum which create oily conditions. Clary Sage is well known for relieving menstrual cramps. It is also recommended for managing menopause (blend in a bath with Geranium oil).

PRECAUTIONS: May cause drowsiness if used while drinking alcohol. Blend a 1% - 2% dilution when using on skin. DO NOT USE DURING PREGENANCY.
