Basil is an annual herb. The oil is extracted through steam distillation of the leaves and flowering tops.

ESSENCE: Known as a lucky charm and a sign of abundance, Basil is a middle note and is considered to be stimulating. Just one drop will make a perfume blend come alive.

EFFECTS: A warming oil that lifts the spirits. Recommended for those who are physically or mentally exhausted, suffer from nervous depression or have become melancholic.

THERAPY: Useful for relief of sinus congestion, asthma, and symptoms of influenza. Its chemical properties make it useful for all types of fever and it is a good bronchitis home remedy.

PRECAUTIONS: DO NOT USE DURING PREGNANCY. Basil can irritate sensitive skin.
