Avocado is an excellent source of vitamins A, D and E as well as beta carotene, lecithin and potassium. A virgin oil like ours will be also be rich in chlorophyll. It has a heavy texture with a shelf life of approximately 8 – 10 months. Avocado Oil is traditionally used for its softening and protective properties. It promotes cell regeneration and has a well-known action on dry, fragile skin. Using daily as a body oil will increase the hydration of the upper layers of the skin and improve your skin's elastic properties. The oil is an excellent choice for dry, devitalized or mature skin and is useful for conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and diaper rash. It is also good for climate-damaged skin and can be used as a natural sun filter.
When using Avocado Oil to make body creams and lotions it should be between 30% - 50% of the blend. As it has a heavy texture, you will want to blend it with lighter oils such as Pumpkin, Macadamia, Evening Primrose and Sesame. For facial creams it should be used at 20% - 30% of the blend.
